PingParrot logo PingParrot For kids

Their phone is on silent. This still gets through.

PingParrot uses Critical Alerts on iPhone and Android to ring through silent mode and Do Not Disturb. It repeats until your kid responds, and tells the other parent if they don't.

Family Circle Ava · Maya · Jake

For the moments a text gets missed.

School pickup, practice, a teen who ignores the family chat. Send it once and know someone saw it.

School pickup changes

Plans change fast. Send the change once and it repeats every few minutes until they answer, instead of sitting unread in a group chat.

After-school check-ins

Ask "are you home?" and get a tap back with a time on it. No answer? The other parent is alerted instead of you wondering.

Practice and game days

Phones end up in bags, on silent. A repeating alert that rings through still reaches them before the ride leaves.

Critical Alerts · iPhone & Android

Rings through silent mode. And Do Not Disturb.

PingParrot uses Critical Alerts on both iPhone and Android, so an urgent alert can sound even when a phone is on silent or in Do Not Disturb. Your kids allow it once when they set up the app.

On iPhone this uses Apple's Critical Alerts permission.

Send it once. It keeps trying.

Add your family

Put your kids and the other parent in one family circle in a couple of taps.

Send an alert

A pickup change, a check-in or anything urgent, from the app or dashboard.

It keeps trying

It repeats every few minutes and rings through silent mode until they respond.

No answer? It escalates

If nobody acknowledges it in time, the next person is alerted, and you see who responded and when.

Why I built this

Our founder spent 20+ years in hospital IT alerting before building the same break-through-silent-mode escalation for families.

“I built PingParrot out of necessity: after 20+ years in DevOps and hospital IT, I couldn't find alerting that was reliable and feature-rich without needing a manual to configure.”

Our founder works as an Enterprise Analyst supporting two rural hospitals.

Questions from parents.

Will it work if my kid's phone is on silent or Do Not Disturb?

PingParrot uses Critical Alerts on both iPhone and Android, which can sound through silent mode and Do Not Disturb once your child allows them during setup.

What if my kid doesn't answer?

The alert repeats every few minutes. If nobody acknowledges it in the time you set, PingParrot alerts the next person on your list, like the other parent.

Can I see whether they saw it?

Yes. The history shows who was alerted, when it was delivered and when they responded.

Do my kids need to keep the app open?

No. Alerts arrive as push notifications. If one can't be delivered, it falls back to email with a one-tap confirm link.

What does it cost for two parents and three kids?

If everyone has their own phone or tablet, that's five devices. The first 3 are free and the other 2 are $8 each per month, so $16 a month in CAD.

Is it free?

Yes, for up to 3 devices with no time limit and no credit card. Extra devices are only charged if you add them.
